Topped-Up Retort
The Topped-Up Retort method corrects for vapor space air pockets and fluid shrinkage during distillation, enabling highly accurate API RP 13C solids analyses.
How to use:
- Input dry cell and sample weights (W1, W2).
- Add topping fluid of known density and weigh as W3.
- Conduct retort distillation and record receiver volumes.
- Weigh dry solids residue (W6).
- Click Calculate to obtain Phase distributions and ROC.
A mass balance check of 0.0g indicates perfect recovery. Deviations over 0.5g prompt re-calibration.
