Custom Data
Analytics & Reporting
We provide custom data extraction, transformation, and analysis on a per-customer basis. Turn your historical and daily mud reports into actionable intelligence tailored to your specific project goals.
Our Custom
Analytical Process
Cutpoint does not sell a one-size-fits-all software platform. Instead, we work directly with your team to understand your project requirements and develop a tailored plan. Using our proprietary algorithms, we extract and scrub existing data from your Daily Mud Reports (DMRs) and volume balance sheets.
We calculate true Solids Removal Efficiency (SRE), Base Fluid Ratio (BFR), Mud to Cuttings Ratio (MCR), and iteratively solve for mud constituents. We deliver the transformed data and custom reporting metrics you need to benchmark performance and lower well construction costs, without requiring new rig sensors or hardware.
Tailored Deliverables
- Historical Volume Audits
Review past well campaigns to pinpoint where drilling fluid was lost.
- Custom KPI Benchmarking
SRE and MCR reporting formatted precisely to your internal company tools.
- Dilution Optimization Reports
Actionable recommendations to safely minimize base oil and water additions.
Case Study: Fleet-Wide Mud Optimization in a Harsh Environment
01. The Challenge
A major operator running a multi-rig fleet in a remote, harsh environment needed to reduce their mud usage per barrel of hole drilled. Additionally, they required a data-driven strategy to recover expensive wellbore strengthening materials (walnut shells) from the cuttings to prevent cost-prohibitive waste injection and disposal fees.
02. Data Extraction & Analysis
Cutpoint engineers conducted a custom data evaluation of the fleet's solids control equipment. We extracted historical volume accounting data from the fleet's daily mud reports, measured real-time Mud to Cuttings Ratios (MCR) at the shakers to evaluate fluid distribution, conducted vibration analysis to map G-forces across the screen decks, and analyzed the dilution rates required to maintain target Low Gravity Solids (LGS) concentrations.
03. The Results
By analyzing the extracted data across the fleet, Cutpoint definitively proved that Solids Removal Efficiency (SRE) tracks inversely to mud usage. The data revealed that increasing SRE by just 5 percentage points in a 10,000-foot production interval would decrease expensive mud usage by over 500 barrels per well. We provided management with custom reporting that made SRE and MCR visible, standardized screen selection to prevent the stripping of wellbore strengthening materials, and corrected flow distribution issues that were previously causing unseen mud losses at the shakers.
